Select side hinge door, Withington, Manchester

Anyway... This recent project was to upgrade the look and security of a garage in the Withington area of Manchester, an area which has some lovely big old houses. The old doors and cladding were timber and this new classic black look was chosen, we think the choice turned out just nicely.

The Select side hinge door come in its own steel frame and the doors themselves are steel. These doors are very secure, when the handle is turns, two substantial steel rods act as drop bolts and lock into the floor and above the door too. We set the doors up so they are easy to use and they have door stays built in, to hold the door open when in use, to close the door is as simple as pulling the pull chord and closing the door manually.

On this installation we also installed an aluminium threshold to the floor. The door sits on top of the threshold and it is sloped on the front and back edge. This helps to take up any unlevel floor and helps as a barrier below the door. It also frames the job off neatly.

The apex of the garage and around the frame was clad in high quality black uPVC that will not fade with age, then the whole job was sealed up neatly. The look fits into the area nicely and the customer was most pleased with the new look garage and felt safer knowing it was much more secure.
