This recent installation was for a customer in Stalybridge, Tameside, on the Mottram Rise estate, where we have fitted many garage doors, from single canopy doors like this, to large double automatic doors.

The job was to replace the old garage door with something more modern and easy to use but also to replace old timber frames that had started to rot with weather exposure. So the first stage was to remove the old door and timber frame, which we dispose of and recycle as appropriate.

The new Hormann canopy door was then fitted and adjustments made to maximise the efficiency when using the door. We also clad around the door in white uPVC, and made a new "Spanish Arch" out of uPVC to go above the door. The whole job was then sealed up using high quality silicone and everything left tidy.

This pair of side-hinged garage doors was fitted for a customer in Broadbottom, Tameside. The plan for the future is to have matching windows and doors in matching anthracite grey. We were happy to put this customer in touch with a trusted window fitter we work with too.

Side-hinged doors are a practical solution to many garages. It could be that height is an issue or there may be obstructions, such as gas meters behind the door, causing a width restriction. Or perhaps you only use the garage door as a personnel door to put the bins out etc.

As well as fitting the doors, we also replaced the fascia boards above the door with new anthracite uPVC. The door also comes with an aluminium floor threshold, which we cemented in, due to the floor level in front of the door being lower.

Hormann Marquess doors. Hyde, Tameside

Pennine recently installed these elegant Hormann garage doors for a customer in Hyde, Tameside. They were ordered in a Marques style and with a rosewood finish to match other features on the house. We think these doors look stunning on this stone built house.

We started the job by removing the old pair of doors, we then proceded to dismantle and remove the old frames from the stonework openings. Old timber frames are often fixed well and will sometimes leave old paint etc on the stonework. After cleaning up the openings of old sealants and nails (work in progress shown in pic), we then fit the new door in such a way that any old staining left on the brickwork is not seen.

Hormann garage doors come as a complete unit in their own steel frame, we are careful when fitting them that the correct tolerances are set such as spacing and spring tension, so that the door is properly balanced and easy to use. Garage doors can be unsafe if fitted incorrectly, we take great care and pride in our installations, so they not only look nice but so they are safe too.

We finished the job off with matching rosewood uPVC fascias and trims on the frame legs, then sealed the job in a rosewood colour sealant. As always, the job was left nice and tidy.

Hormann Georgian garage door, Dukinfield

We recently fitted this classic Georgian style door for a customer in our local area of Dukinfield. The door was ordered to match a new black front door that had been installed.

As you can see from the "before" picture, we removed the old garage door and all of the timber frame and fascia, so we were left with just the brick opening. The new Hormann door comes in its own steel frame, after installing the door, we finished the job off with a white uPVC fascia and legs, which frames the garage door in the same style as the front door.

As with all jobs, we set up the spring tension of the door to work at maximum efficiency and ease of use. The old door and timber were removed from site and the whole job left neat and tidy. The customer was very happy with the job and how it had completed the new look of their home.

AlluGuard garage door, Stalybridge

Automatic roller door fitted for an existing customer in Stalybridge. We originally fitted a Hormann canopy garage door in white quite a few years ago, the customer had the door sprayed grey at a later date to suit the windows and door of the house.

Recently the customer decided to upgrade to an automated, insulated door, so an AlluGuard roller door was decided on. The new door will provide a range of benefits and make life a little easier when bringing shopping in or getting the children's toys and bikes out.

All of the original uPVC liners on the walls at the sides of door were left in place, as they were still fine. We just added some small new edging trims to help frame the door off neatly.

There is a safety system built into the door which prevents the door from crushing anything. If the door comes into contact with an object, it will simply stop and partially reverse. The door also has a handy courtesy light on the internal control box, which stays illuminated for a short time after door usage.

AlluGuard roller doors have an integral alarm system which is constantly armed and will detect any attempt at tampering with the door. We can attest to just how loud these alarms are! They are also reliable and will no go off at unwanted times.
