Recently installed for a customer in one of our local areas of Dukinfield. Chosen in a grey colour to suit other features on the house. The door is fully automatic, which means no more heaving an awkward manual door for this customer! 🙂

We offer a range of choices in types of garage doors but we find automatic roller doors are popular with our customers. They are simple to use, fully insulated and save on space with no parts swinging inwards to the garage. Each door is made to measure, which means we can help keeping maximum drive through width on your garage as wide as possible. We often get asked this due to cars being wider now and people wanting to put their cars into their garage.

With older doors, timber frames and door arms etc would often reduce the opening width of the garage. We can often help with this where we can by fitting the door in a way that keeps the opening as wide as possible. This door was installed behind the brickwork, so the frame is actually hidden and you get full drive through width. Any mess from the old door on the brickwork can be neatly clad with uPCV as we did here. This creates a nice framed look to the installation.

We’ve installed thousands of doors and always want our customers to be happy with the product and the quality of the installation. All the old materials are removed from site and recycled where possible. Jobs are left clean and tidy, we want you to enjoy your new door and not have to tidy up afterwards. It’s something we have always prided ourselves on.

AlluGuard roller doors have many benefits and are a great improvement to your home, especially if you are struggling with an old door. Simply pressing a button on a remote control is also much safer, as you don’t have to get out of your car if putting it in the garage. The doors are insulated and seal to the floor nicely, if the flood is uneven, we can fit an aluminium threshold or rubber weather stop to the floor for the door to sit on. Also featured is a safety system that will kick in if the door comes into contact with an obstacle.

Hörmann canopy door, Tameside

Recently installed by our team, this “chartwell green” up-and-over style garage door was chosen to match other features of the same colour on the house. The previous white door is shown in the pictures below to show the difference this lovely installation has made.

Hörmann canopy doors (up and over) are much better than the older types of door we often replace. Made of steel and avaialable in a wide range of styles and colours, these doors are very secure and come in their own steel frame. This reduces the gaps around the door often required with older doors fitted into timber frames. We also fitted a weatherseal to the floor which is optional but closes the gap under the door and keeps weather and leaves out. The door shuts snuggly against the lip on the weatherseal.

With this new door, the timber frame is not needed. So our first job is to remove the door itself in a safe manner (customers should never try to remove a door, due to spring tension that can be dangerous). Then we can remove the timber frame and clean up the brickwork opening of any old sealants etc. We can then lift the new door and frame into place as one unit.

The door is set out neatly in its opening, being careful to fit it level and plumb, so the door operates as it should. Once we are happy with its position, we can fix it into place with the sturdy fixings provided. We then clad the frame in uPVC to neatly frame the door. This also makes it easy to clean and no more painting frames! Lastly the job is neatly sealed up and we always tidy up and remove old materials and the old door from site.

Hörmann canopy door and very easy to operate when setup correctly, we can also provide a service on the door periodically to maintain the spring tension and keep it clean plus lubricated.

A recent installation for a customer in our local area of Stalybridge, where we have many happy customers. This is a fully automatic roller door supplied by our long time supplier Hörmann and fitted by ourselves.

Due to the nature of the high brickwork opening and the original door with the one big window above (see photo), we replicated it but with a solid double glazed unit. We work alongside trusted local companies for any windows or front doors required. We think you’ll agree this is quite a transformation and customers tell us that an automatic door is one of the best things they have bought for their home.

Most old garage doors become awkward to use and sometimes can become a danger too. We stress that people should NOT tamper with their own garage door springs or mechanisms, as this can cause serious injury if the correct procedures are not followed. This old door was safely removed first of all and the window too, then we could start prepping the opening for the new door to be fitted.

All timber frames are often removed, unless they are structural etc. Modern garage doors of all types come in their own frames, so its much easier to maintain too. No more painting! This new roller door is also much easier to open. No more faffing about with locks in the rain or hitting/kicking it in the right spot on an old door just to get it open 😉

There are many other benefits to this door too. It is fully insulated and doesn’t require gaps around it. Which is a huge improvement if the garage leads into the house or has rooms above. The door comes with two remotes as standard, optional internal buttons you can have in the home are available too. The door has a control box in the garage you can operate it with too and a light that comes on when the door is in use and stays on for a short time.

As you can see from our installations, we always take care and pride in our work and supply quality products. We want you to be happy with your new home improvement, we also take away any old materials and leave things nice and tidy.

Recently installed for a customer in Dukinfield, this pair of fully automatic Hörmann RollMatic-T roller doors was a huge transformation and upgrade to the old manual doors that had served their time and become awkward to use.

There are so many benefits with upgrading to an automatic door and Hörmann roller doors are of high quality, unlike some of the more flimsy, cheap roller doors out there. These doors are fully insulted and don’t require gaps around the door like manual doors do. If the garage is attached to the house or has rooms above, the insulation helps hugely to keep things warmer and the weather out.

It is also much easier and safer to drive up to your garage and just press a button on one of the two remotes provided, rather than getting out of the car to struggle unlocking and opening your garage door in bad weather for example. Each door also has its own internal control box in the garage that has a light on it. The light will come on when the door is in use and stay on for a few minutes to help illuminate the garage.

Other features include a safety system that will trigger if the door touches an object while closing. The door will stop and reverse. There is also a sturdy rubber seal on the bottom of the door that closes nicely on the floor. If floors are not level, we can install an alluminiam threshold nice and level and cemented to the floor, that the door closes on.

As you can see by the picture that shows the old white door next to the new one. We start by removing the door and its timber frame, there is no need for timber frames as these doors have their own sturdy alluminium or steel frames. This helps gives more width on the garage opening, which many customers want due to cars being wider. Where the old frames were, we neatly trim in uPVC to give the door a neat framed look.

There is also a new strap system (as shown in pic) that helps to keep the door in good condition while it rolls up on itself. We offer an affordable annual service on our doors to help maintain them and keep them like new. This includes fixing checks, safety checks, new batteries where required and a good clean of the door.

Here’s a closer look at a Hörmann sectional type garage door for a customer in Ashton-Under-Lyne, Tameside, chosen in a rosewood finish to match other features on the house.

Sectional garage doors are one of the most secure doors you can buy. These doors ooze quality and have many beneficial features. One of the main advantages is that this door is fully automated and can be operated by one of the two remotes provided. Extras such as internal wall buttons can also be used. Customers often tell us on return visits to service doors etc, that upgrading to an automatic door is one of the best changes to their home. We aren’t just saying this either, customers truly appreciate these fine doors. If you park your car in the garage, there is no need to get out in the rain, or risking leaving your engine running while you are not in the car.

The doors are also fully insulated (unlike inferior types of sectional doors) and don’t require gaps around the door, like many manual doors do. This is a great advantage for anyone whos garage leads into the house, or if there are rooms above the garage. You will feel a big difference in winter. Security is also a huge benefit with these doors. There is nothing to tamper with and we rate them as the most secure door we install.

The door itself consists of four, hinged panels that open up and into the garage on a track system. The operator is shown in a picture here. The Hörmann Promatic operator is used to lift single doors, the Supramatic can lift heavier double doors or single doors. The Supramatic latest version has the capability to operate the door from your phone too, or connected smart watch etc.

Sometimes after removing the old door and installation, we find brickwork might need covering up where the old frame was due to staining or a cavity etc. In these cases, we can neatly box the door in with matching uPVC which also gives the door a nice neat, framed look. As usual, all old materials are removed from site by us and your home left nice and tidy!

Any automatic door we install also feature safety systems. With a sectional door, if it comes into contact with an obstacle, the door will sense it and stop and reverse. A yearly service benefits these doors to stay looking and operating just like new.
