Hörmann canopy door, Denton

Hörmann canopy door, Denton, Tameside

Recently installed for a customer in our local area of Denton. This job required us to rebuild some of the front of the garage and to install a new garage door. The door is made by Hörmann and was chosen in a nice rosewood finish. It is a manual up-and-over type door. The style is known as the “Elegance”.

We first started by removing the old door and frame (see pic below), we could then see what we were dealing with. We renewed the front timber above the door as it had rotted a bit. Rather than cladding over it and leaving the wood to rot further, the right thing to do was to replace it. We also clad it neatly with a white uPVC capping board and black roofing trim above it. The white frame gives the door a nice contrast in colour.

Hörmann canopy doors come in their own steel frames. This means there are no gaps to tamper with and the latches/gear provide a very secure system and door. The doors are made of steel and are usually powder coated paint finishes, wood type effects such as this one use a durable foil finish, like uPVC windows etc.

We always install our doors with care and attention so they not only look great but are balanced nicely for ease of use. The door should do most of the lifting for you and can be serviced periodically by us to keep it clean, lubricated and nicely balanced.

We think you’ll agree that this is a nice transformation and the customer was very pleased. We always leave your property tidy and take the old door and materials away to be recycled as appropriate. We want you to enjoy your new door without worrying about mess. We are a family business and have earned a good reputation by providing quality products and installations, we only provide products we trust, rather than cheap doors that won’t last too long.

Hörmann canopy doors are available in a wide range of styles and colours, if you would like to see more on this product, you can view the brochure here.

Hörmann automatic sectional door, Dukinfield

Hörmann sectional garage door, Dukinfield

We recently installed this classic looking sectional type door in Dukinfield, Tameside. The door is in a rosewood finish and is fully automatic, insulated and looks stunning on the customers home.

Sectional garage doors are a popular type of door we fit and at the high end of the most secure types of garage door that you can add to your home. They are fully automatic and have many benefits. The door is made from steel and the panels are fully insulated with a high quality insulation foam, which helps to keep the warmth in your home if there are rooms adjoining or above the garage. There is a rubber seal on the bottom of the door that seals nicely to the floor. The security on Hörmann sectional doors is also very solid, giving you peace of mind.

The door is made up of four panels that are hinged, it has no kick-out, meaning you can park vehicles close to them. You can see in the brochure here how the door and track systems work. We use the Hörmann Promatic or Supramatic operating system depending on the size of door. These operators are built to last and with periodic maintenance, they will continue to operate your door for many years with no problem.

The old door it replaced was a manual up and over door. With this new automatic door, the customer no longer has to get out of a car to open the door, which is safer and dryer in wet weather. When we go back to service doors, we often get told how an automatic door has been one of the best additions to their house.

We always finish the installation with care and attention to detail. This door was finished off in uPVC trims and sealed in a suitable matching colour. We always leave your home very tidy too!

Hörmann garage doors, Ashton under Lyne

Hörmann garage doors, Rosewood, Ashton under Lyne

Here’s a nice transformation we recently completed for a customer in Ashton under Lyne, Tameside. The old doors had become very awkward and hard to operate. These new doors will open and close effortlessly and look stunning in the modern design chosen by the customer.

The two garage doors are both manual (canopy) garage doors, which we install and setup so that the door does most of the lifting for you. Chosen in the “elegance” design, which is a nice modern style by Hörmann. The rosewood colour matches the windows and doors on the house too.

We started the job by taking out the old door and carefully removing the timber frame. When we have an empty brickwork opening, we then clean up the bricks of any old sealants and paint. This is so that none of the old sealant shows on the new installation. We can then lift the door into place and start to get it central and level. Hörmann doors come in their own steel frame, which helps to add security to the door, as there are no gaps to tamper with and the locking system is integral to the door and frame.

When we are happy with the position of the door, we can fix it using the sturdy fixings provided. Whilst this is happening, we are then installing the matching rosewood uPVC around the frame on the front of the door. We take great care with our finishing touches, as shown in the close-up photo above.

Hörmann canopy doors are a very popular choice with our customers. They are sturdy, easy to operate and very secure, more locking points can also be ordered as a small extra. They are available in many styles and colours that will suit the features on your home.

Hörmann Rollmatic T, Chester

July 24, 2022 by Pennine Garage Doors

Hörmann Rollmatic T, Mouldsworth, Chester

Here’s something a little bit different. This customer in the area of Mouldworth in Chester had built a stunning timber garage. Our job was to install a Hörmann Rollmatic T automatic roller door. The door was chosen in a rosewood colour.

As you can see, there are some nice touches on the garage timber work and the customer can now park their car with ease. Opening the door is as simple as pressing a button on one of the two remote controls that come as standard with the door. There are also many other options available such as internal wireless push buttons and you can also use your mobile phone to control the door by setting it up with an app on your phone.

The door is fully insulated and very secure. Hörmann garage doors are very high quality and the finish on the doors will not fade or change shade over time. Another advantage of a roller door is that they are space saving. There is no kick-out on the door, meaning a car can be parked close to it, there are also no tracks and width restrictions inside the garage.

Regarding insulation, each lath has insulated foam between the aluminium and this will help to keep any home warmer if the garage is attached to the house. There is a sturdy rubber seal on the bottom of the door curtain which creates a seal to the floor and stops any weather and debris from entering the garage.

The Hörmann Rollmatic T has an in-built safety system that will not allow the door to crush anything whilst closing. If the door meets an obstacle, it will simply stop and reverse. We think you’ll agree that this installation looks lovely in it’s surroundings. We fit all of our doors with care and attention to detail and always leave everthing nice and tidy for our customers.

Available in a wide range of colours or woodgrain finishes and available in any size as standard, you can see more on this product by viewing the brochure here.

Hörmann Rollmatic T, Audenshaw

April 9, 2022 by Pennine Garage Doors

Hörmann Rollmatic T, Audenshaw, Tameside.

A recent installation for a customer in our local area of Audenshaw in Tameside. The door is fully automated and was chosen in a rosewood wood grain finish to compliment the windows and doors on the house, which are also rosewood.

Automatic roller doors are a popular choice with our customers. They are available in sizes to suit any garage opening and are available in a wide range of colours and wood grain finishes such as the door shown here. We always remove old materials from the previous installation and recycle where we can. Our first task when installing a door is to start with a nice clean opening. Any old sealants are cleaned off the brickwork for example, then we can start installing the new door.

After this door was installed, we also framed it neatly with matching rosewood uPVC. The materials and doors we use are UV stable and wont fade easily with age and weather. We also offer a “Garage Door Service” to help you look after your door and keep it working smoothly. Most customers have a service once a year, which involves a thorough clean too.

Having a fully automated door has many benefits. As well as being secure, these roller doors are insulated too, which will help to keep your home warm if the garage adjoins the house, or if there are rooms above. It also means that you don’t have to get out of a vehicle to open the garage door (if you park a car in the garage), you can just simply press a button on one of the two remotes that come with the door.

The customer has downlights above the garage door and this makes the whole installation look lovely in the evening too. We think you’ll agree that this is another nice job by the Pennine Garage Doors team.
