Wisniowski side hinge doors, Glossop

Recently installed for a customer in Glossop, the bespoke side hinge doors are of the highest quality, made by Wisniowski and installed by Pennine Garage Doors. Our fitter, Dan, said how much he likes installing these doors, as we don’t do many, he does enjoy fitting our other types too though! 🙂

Side hinge doors are still a practical solution for some customers, sometimes there are limits inside the garage that makes it awkward for other doors to fit, sometimes its personal preference. The doors are very easy to use and there is no lifting involved for instance.

Due to the Wisniowski side hinge doors being a whole unit including its frame etc, it is engineered to the highest standards. With features such as hydraulic door openers, which make the door easy to use and hold the door open for you. The doors are 45mm thick and fully insulated. There always needs to be a small gap around the frame when we fit a door to allow for walls slightly out of level etc. After installing the door, we filled the gaps between the frame and brickwork with expanding foam to further help with insulation. This is then neatly cut flat and then we use matching uPVC trims to frame the door to the brickwork and seal up with suitable silicone.

The finish on the doors is UV stable and should not fade over time if looked after and cleaned from time to time. Security is very good on these doors making it hard to tamper with them. This door was also fitted with an aluminium threshold on the floor so that when the threshold is fitted level, the door willl be level too and seal nicely to the threshold. This is handy for floors that are slightly out of level to minimise having a gap under the door. It will also stop water or weather getting in.
