Select side hinge doors, Hyde, Tameside
Sometimes a customer wants a traditional side hinge type of garage door. This could be for various reasons, including lack of space in the garage for an up-and-over door for instance. This classic looking door was installed for a customer in Hyde, Tameside. The white framing helps to create a nice contrast to the brickwork.
As usual, we start by removing the old door and timber frame, being careful not to disturb any brickwork. When we are left with an empty brickwork opening, we clean the brick of old sealants and paint. Then we can lift the garage door into place. These Select doors come as a complete unite. The door is made of steel and has it’s own steel frame. This means that unlike many older doors, there are no big gaps to tamper with between the door and the frame.
The security on the Select side hinge door is also very robust. With sturdy locking bars that lock the door in multiple places, both up and downwards. The doors are very simple to use and they also feature “door stays” that will hold the doors open until you are ready to release the door stay and close the door again.
Select side hinge doors can also be split different ways. The doors can be split in the middle like these, so both doors are the same size. Or they can be split off-center so there is one large door leaf and one smaller normal size door. There are other options available too, such as with or without windows and many different styles and colours to choose from.
