AlluGuard door in anthracite. Hadfield.
This project in a lovely part of Glossop near Hadfield involved replacing old large hinging doors with a more practical solution. The garage opens out onto a cobbled busy road, which means any doors that open outwards are unsuitable. The customer chose to have a remote control roller door fitted, as well as blanking off the side entrance door, which wasn't required anymore.
First we removed the old timber doors and prepared the opening. Due to steep drop on the right hand side of the opening, the door didn't need to fill the whole width, so we built a large solid timber studding at the side of the door to help fill the area and to fix the door to.
The side entrance door was removed and a solid timber studding was made to fill the opening. The front of both studdings were clad in anthracite upvc and we covered the rear in plywood which can be painted if required.
The customer was very happy with the finished result (thanks for the brews!) and this door is now much easier to use and maintain. The door features a somfy control box and motor which has five year warranty. The door also has its own integral alarm system and a courtesy light on the control box when in use.
