A recent project by the Pennine Garage Doors team, to install a pair of AlluGuard automatic roller doors on this property in the lovely scenic area of Denshaw, Oldham. The doors were chosen in a anthracite grey colour.
With nice views all around it and being a bit exposed to the elements, this garage will benefit from having these AlluGuard roller doors. Not only are they insulated, but they also seal to the floor unlike a normal up and over door, which requires a gap and can often let the weather and leaves into the garage in certain situations.
Our team started by removing the old doors and timber frames from the stone opening. We then cleaned up the stonework of any old sealants and paint and prepared the doors for installation. The legs/tracks and framework is installed first, making sure that everything is level and plumb. Then the control box and curtain can be installed and any pvc trims on the outside that might be needed.
Due to this garage being exposed to the weather and the natural stone, instead of sealing the job up to the stone, it was decided to point it in with a solid mortar mix. This will set nice and strong and dry a close colour to the existing mortar.
AlluGuard automatic roller doors are a great choice for many reasons. They come with an internal control box featuring a light which stays on for a short time during and after the door is operated, the box also has an integral (LOUD) alarm that will only trigger if the door is tampered with. Two remote controls are provided as standard. The door features a safety system which will stop and auto reverse if the door comes into contact with anything during operation.
