Hörmann sectional door, Ashton, Tameside

Here’s a closer look at a Hörmann sectional type garage door for a customer in Ashton-Under-Lyne, Tameside, chosen in a rosewood finish to match other features on the house.

Sectional garage doors are one of the most secure doors you can buy. These doors ooze quality and have many beneficial features. One of the main advantages is that this door is fully automated and can be operated by one of the two remotes provided. Extras such as internal wall buttons can also be used. Customers often tell us on return visits to service doors etc, that upgrading to an automatic door is one of the best changes to their home. We aren’t just saying this either, customers truly appreciate these fine doors. If you park your car in the garage, there is no need to get out in the rain, or risking leaving your engine running while you are not in the car.

The doors are also fully insulated (unlike inferior types of sectional doors) and don’t require gaps around the door, like many manual doors do. This is a great advantage for anyone whos garage leads into the house, or if there are rooms above the garage. You will feel a big difference in winter. Security is also a huge benefit with these doors. There is nothing to tamper with and we rate them as the most secure door we install.

The door itself consists of four, hinged panels that open up and into the garage on a track system. The operator is shown in a picture here. The Hörmann Promatic operator is used to lift single doors, the Supramatic can lift heavier double doors or single doors. The Supramatic latest version has the capability to operate the door from your phone too, or connected smart watch etc.

Sometimes after removing the old door and installation, we find brickwork might need covering up where the old frame was due to staining or a cavity etc. In these cases, we can neatly box the door in with matching uPVC which also gives the door a nice neat, framed look. As usual, all old materials are removed from site by us and your home left nice and tidy!

Any automatic door we install also feature safety systems. With a sectional door, if it comes into contact with an obstacle, the door will sense it and stop and reverse. A yearly service benefits these doors to stay looking and operating just like new.

Hörmann sectional door, Droylsden

Hörmann sectional garage door, Droylsden.

Check out this nice picture of this Hörmann sectional door for a customer in Droylsden. It actually looks like a Summer day (it isn’t).

Sectional door are a “top of the range” product. They tick all the boxes in terms of security, insulation and looks. Available in a wide range of flat colours, as well as decograin wood effects, like this one in rosewood. The finish is durable and easy to clean.

The door is made up of four horizontal panels that are linked by hinges. The door opens straight upwards and then into the garage, meaning you can park a vehicle close to the door, as there is no kickout. The door seals to the floor with a sturdy rubber seal, which helps keep the weather out and leaves no gaps like a manual door has.

We have great feedback from customers who have had one of these garage doors installed, they all say it’s one of the best things they’ve bought. Especially if the garage leads into the house and there are rooms adjoining. We are told they provide excellent insulation to rooms that were once hard to keep warm.

The remote control system is also by Hörmann and comes with two remote controls as standard. The Supramatic operator is more than capable of lifting double doors. When we install any of our doors, we always set them up so they are nicely balanced by the springs etc, meaning the operator is not overworking. We offer an affordable service plan to look after your door once a year or so. Including full inspection of all fixings, lubrication and cleaning of the whole door, plus any tweaks to keep it running smooth.

Hörmann RollMatic T door, Glossop

Here is a look at the Hörmann RollMatic T automatic roller door on three different homes. All recent installations by Pennine Garage Doors. The first door shown here was fitted for a customer in Glossop, Derbyshire. Chosen in a stunning steel blue to match the front door. We think you’ll agree, these doors look great in colours and can give a touch of character to a house.

As per usual, all old materials and the old door were removed first, the brickwork cleaned up of old sealants, then the new door carefully installed. This door was framed nicely in white, with white uPVC finishing trims and then neatly sealed up to the brickwork.

Hörmann RollMatic T door, Rawtenstall

The door above was installed for a customer in Rawtenstall, in the Rossendale Valley. Hörmann RollMatic T doors are fully automated, well insulated and very secure. We have feedback from customers who’s garages lead into their homes, that they do indeed notice a difference with insulation. They seal nicely to a level floor and do not require gaps, like manual doors do for example.

Hörmann RollMatic T door, Oldham

Another RollMatic T, chosen in a woodgrain finish to match the front door and windows of the house. The neat brickwork on the house really sets this door off well. We also used woodgrain uPVC to line the sides of the brickwork next to the door, to give it a boxed-in look. We always try to work with our customers on what your needs are, whilst also providing advice from our vast experience of fitting garage doors.

AlluGuard automatic roller door, Macclesfield

October 28, 2017 by Pennine Garage Doors

AlluGuard roller door, golden oak. Macclesfield

This was quite an interesting job for Pennine Garage Doors, the customer in Macclesfield was in the process of building his own house and we fitted the garage door when most of the construction was complete.

The aim was for the customer to be able to accommodate a tall vehicle in the garage. To enable this, the garage opening was built taller than usual for the required height. An automatic roller door was chosen to save space and maximise the drive through height.

The door actually rolls up into a room on the second floor of the house. A space was made for the headbox to be installed upstairs and this part of the door will be boxed in, with access if needed. You can see this in the pictures, with and without the curtain loaded onto the axle.

After securely installing the door, we also capped off the steel lintel with a matching golden oak uPVC soffit board and used smalll uPVC liners on the brickwork where it meets the door to create a nice frame to the job.

AlluGuard automatic roller doors are a great solution for many of our customers, they are simple to use and maintain. Please feel free to browse the brochure for a closer look, or contact us to arrange a free survey.

Hormann golden oak doors, Bolton

October 21, 2017 by Pennine Garage Doors

Hormann, Elegance style doors, in golden oak, Bolton.

This project involved fitting five garage doors for a construction company. The site location is in Bolton, on new residential housing. When working on such projects we work closely with the builders to ensure that garages are built to a specification that is suitable for standard sized doors if possible and that the job goes smoothly.

The doors were chosen in a classic golden oak colour, in Hormann’s Elegance style. These steel doors are tough and have a durable foil finish like you would find on high quality windows and doors.

We turned up to fit the doors after the garages had been built and the groundwork around them was also finished, the doors were delivered to site and the whole job was completed in a day. We finished off each door with the same golden oak uPVC fascias and trims to match the garage doors, which neatly frames each door.

After fitting the doors, the spring tension on each door was adjusted to the same levels and all fixings checked. Every door we fit is fixed with strong fixings appropriate to the brickwork or stonework, ensuring maximum safety and security.

Hormann offer a wide range of canopy (up-and-over) doors, please feel free to browse the brochure for the full range of styles. You can also contact us to arrange a free survey.
