Select side hinge doors, Neston, Wirral

Recently installed for a customer in Neston, a nice pair of side hinge doors made by Select and chosen in a nice blue to add a splash of colour to the house.

Before we had the option of up-and-over doors and newer automatic doors, most garage doors were timber side hinge doors. Things have come a long way since then and although we can still supply quality timber doors (which are actually more expensive), these modern side hinge doors are made of steel. They are built with an integral steel frame, which means that the whole installation is one well built component. Requiring minimum gaps unlike timber doors and featuring highly secure locking systems.

No more rotting timber frame legs or doors and no more painting required. These Select side hinge doors are polpular with customers who just need a side door for access, with the option to open both doors if needed, another reason is they might not have the room inside the garage for any type of door that goes back into the garage.

This door was chosen with an off-centre split of the doors, with the smaller door on the left. Once that door is open, the other larger door can be opened. You can also order the door with the small door on either side, or have two even door sizes split in the middle.

We install door-stays that will keep the doors open when in use. There is a very secure multi point locking mechanism on the door for peace of mind too. As usual with all our installations, great care is taken from removing your old door and frame, to installing the new one nice and level and looking good to the eye. We finish off any gaps around the door in matching uPVC trims and seal up to the brickwork in quality sealants.

Hörmann RollMatic T in Dukinfield, Tameside

We thought we’d share this nice Blue Hörmann automatic roller door we installed for a customer in Dukinfield. It shows how adding a splash of colour to your home can make a nice difference.

It can be a tricky decision when choosing colours on your house. Luckily, all of our garage door products come in a variety of colours. From the classic white, right through to lovely colours such as this blue door. Also available are wood grain shades to match mahogany or golden oak, plus others.

You can view the full range of colours in any of the relevant brochures in our brochure section. We are always happy to help advise you too from our wealth of experience. Sometimes a coloured door looks nice in a white frame for instance. Such as the RollMatic door shown here.

Our roller doors are fully automatic and very simple to use. The door is operated via the two remote controls that come with the door, or the control box for the door, which is fitted inside the garage. Extra, optional push buttons can be installed on a wall in your house if required. Roller doors are insulated too and we have good feedback from customers when we have serviced their doors that they notice a big difference if there is a room above the garage for example. They are also secure and come with their own integral alarm system that will only trigger if the door is tampered with.

A selection of Hörmann RollMatic T doors

December 11, 2020 by Pennine Garage Doors

Hörmann RollMatic T door, Glossop

Here is a look at the Hörmann RollMatic T automatic roller door on three different homes. All recent installations by Pennine Garage Doors. The first door shown here was fitted for a customer in Glossop, Derbyshire. Chosen in a stunning steel blue to match the front door. We think you’ll agree, these doors look great in colours and can give a touch of character to a house.

As per usual, all old materials and the old door were removed first, the brickwork cleaned up of old sealants, then the new door carefully installed. This door was framed nicely in white, with white uPVC finishing trims and then neatly sealed up to the brickwork.

Hörmann RollMatic T door, Rawtenstall

The door above was installed for a customer in Rawtenstall, in the Rossendale Valley. Hörmann RollMatic T doors are fully automated, well insulated and very secure. We have feedback from customers who’s garages lead into their homes, that they do indeed notice a difference with insulation. They seal nicely to a level floor and do not require gaps, like manual doors do for example.

Hörmann RollMatic T door, Oldham

Another RollMatic T, chosen in a woodgrain finish to match the front door and windows of the house. The neat brickwork on the house really sets this door off well. We also used woodgrain uPVC to line the sides of the brickwork next to the door, to give it a boxed-in look. We always try to work with our customers on what your needs are, whilst also providing advice from our vast experience of fitting garage doors.

Hörmann blue garage door, Tameside

September 8, 2018 by Pennine Garage Doors

Hörmann blue garage door, Tameside.

Recently fitted for a customer in Tameside, this blue Hörmann canopy door looks quite striking and adds a nice splash of colour to this home.

Garage doors come in a range of finishes and colours to suit any house or home. The customer had decided to replace their old door, which was also blue and we finished the look off by framing it in white uPVC to fit in with the look of the house.

Hörmann canopy doors are made of steel and come in their own steel frames. This means that security is much better than old doors that are fitted into timber frames. The finish on the doors is powder coated, very durable and UV stable in the sunlight. We removed the old timber frame from this job, so now there is no painting needed. This new door is simple to maintain with a wipe over every now and then.

The door is also easy to operate. We set up every door we install to operate smoothly and efficiently, whether the door is manually operated or automatic, we install our products with safety in mind and ease of use, as well as making sure it looks fantastic!

If you would like to see the full range of Hörmann canopy doors, please feel free to browse the brochure featuring up-and-over (canopy) doors. You can see a full range of colour and finish options, as well as automation options. You can also contact us to arrange a free survey.
