A recent job by ourselves at Pennine Garage Doors for a customer in the Wirral. Made by Teckentrup who we have a long good relationsip with, these doors ooze quality.

Chosen in blue to replace the previous timber doors that had got awkward to use. Timber doors often swell with our sudden changes in weather and frames rot over the years. This new pair of side hinge doors will not have those issues. The doors come in their own steel frame and are like a composite door, solid, insulated and highly secure. Each time you close these doors, they shut with a reassuring click.

The locking mechanism is both highly secure, simple to use and there are no gaps to tamper with the door like with timber ones. We also installed this door onto an alluminium floor threshold. Which gives the door a level platform and further reduces gaps underneath the door. It also keeps the weather out.

As you can see from the before and after pictures. The old door and frame is first removed and the empty opening cleaned up ready for the new door. We removed the feature above the door to create more height for the new door. We then capped everything off neatly with uPVC in white to frame the doors nicely. Then the job is neatly sealed up with suitable coloured silicone.

This new Teckentrup door and frame wont need painting, just washing with warm soapy water will keep it like new. The old door and materials are removed from site and recycled where possible. We always leave your home nice and tidy too. It’s something we have always prided ourselves on.

Recently installed for a customer in our local area of Denton. This job required us to rebuild some of the front of the garage and to install a new garage door. The door is made by Hörmann and was chosen in a nice rosewood finish. It is a manual up-and-over type door. The style is known as the “Elegance”.

We first started by removing the old door and frame (see pic below), we could then see what we were dealing with. We renewed the front timber above the door as it had rotted a bit. Rather than cladding over it and leaving the wood to rot further, the right thing to do was to replace it. We also clad it neatly with a white uPVC capping board and black roofing trim above it. The white frame gives the door a nice contrast in colour.

Hörmann canopy doors come in their own steel frames. This means there are no gaps to tamper with and the latches/gear provide a very secure system and door. The doors are made of steel and are usually powder coated paint finishes, wood type effects such as this one use a durable foil finish, like uPVC windows etc.

We always install our doors with care and attention so they not only look great but are balanced nicely for ease of use. The door should do most of the lifting for you and can be serviced periodically by us to keep it clean, lubricated and nicely balanced.

We think you’ll agree that this is a nice transformation and the customer was very pleased. We always leave your property tidy and take the old door and materials away to be recycled as appropriate. We want you to enjoy your new door without worrying about mess. The garage door that isn’t a door

An interesting job for our team…

Here at Pennine Garage Doors we always try to help customers we can,from awkward repairs to very specific bespoke installations, we have over twenty years of experience installting doors and can provide our customers with advice, or solutions such as this job.

The customers garage door had broke and parts were no longer available. They weren’t interesting in having a new door because they only used the side door to the garage. They asked if we could provide a solution and we suggested this. To baton the opening out with timber, then using solid plyboard secured to it. Keeping in mind to keep the timber off the floor, so it wont soak up water.

We could then clad it with ribbed uPVC to mimic the look of a garage door. We even added a handle to complete the look! Hehe. All neatly sealed up to the garage and all at a fraction of the cost of a door. It also means that should a door be needed in the future, it can be taken down and replaced with a door, unlike building a stone type wall for example.

We hope you like this door that isn’t a door. It just shows what we can do for people looking for ideas.

Recently installed for a customer in the lovely area of Disley in Cheshire. Our task, to supply and install three automatic roller doors on this nice, newly built timber garage. The doors are by AlluGuard, the installation is by ourselves at Pennine Garage Doors.

There were no old doors to take out on this job, so we could just concentrate on installing the three made-to-measure doors, all installed to our usual high standards. We’ve been using AlluGuard roller doors for some years now. We only like to use products that we can put our trust in, there may be cheaper products on the market but we believe our customers deserve the quality of products like AlluGuard or Hörmann doors for instance.

These roller doors are fully automatic, fully insulated and are very secure. Each door has its own internal control box with an integral alarm, which will sound if the door is tampered with or forced. Every automatic door also has in-built safety systems that will trigger if the door meets an obstacle whilst in use. If the doorl touches an object, it will stop and reverse partly.

Each door is provided with two remote controls as standard, you can operate the door via its control box too. Extras are available, as well as handy remote push buttons that can be put in the house. Automatic doors not only make life easier by not having to fiddle with locks and opening awkward doors in awkward weather. The other main benefit is your own security. You don’t have to get out of the car to open the door etc. Each control box also has a light that will illuminate the interior garage space while in use and stays on for a couple of minutes too.

As you can see, all roller doors are ordered to the size you require, unlike some standard up-and-over doors for instance that are standard sizes. AlluGuard doors are also available in a wide selection of colours and finishes. Our customers often tell us it’s one of the best things they have bought for their homes, which is lovely to hear.

A recent instalation by Pennine Garage Doors for a customer in Ashton-Under-Lyne, Tameside. A fully automatic AlluGuard roller door chosen in an ivory colour to give a nice contrast to the rosewood windows and door on the house.

Nearly every customer we return to service their doors often tell us it’s one of the best things they’ve bought for the home. Which is not only a nice compliment to us, but also to the difference an automatic door can make if you’ve had an awkward manual door for instance. With just a press of a button on one of the two remotes provided, or by using the internal control box, the door is simple to open and close.

We take care when removing your old door and frames etc. We will also try our best to clean up the brickwork of any old sealants or paint where the old frame was. Or we will neatly trim any stained brickwork in matching uPVC trims, like we did on this door. It helps to create a neat boxed-in type feature too. We always remove all materials from site and recycle where we can and leave your home nice and tidy.

After we have a clean brickwork opening, we can then install the door, starting with the frame and tracks first and adding the curtain last, along with wiring in the door etc. If you require plug sockets fitted too, we have a trusted electrician who works alongside us when needed.

AlluGuard roller doors offer many benefits, including being fully insulated, fully automatic and and very secure, even featuring an integral alarm if the door is tampered with. The internal control box also has a handy light that will stay on for a couple of minutes after use, to help light the garage up. There is also a safety system (on all our automatic door types) that should the door come into contact with an obstacle, it will simply stop and reverse. We recommend a yearly service to keep this system checked and components etc, we clean your door thoroughly too and find it will keep your door working and looking like new.
