Recently installed for a customer in glossop. This is an Alluguard fully automatic roller door in a neutral brown colour. The garage is at the back of the house and had a manual door previously. Big thanks to the cat for moral support too. We love our furry friends here at Pennine.

We install lots of roller doors for our customers and we only provide quality products we trust for you. We see many inferior roller doors we are often asked to repair or service due to the installers not wanting to return to the job, these doors are a solid product and our aftersales is always here to help too, we follow up any issues our customers may have.

This door has many good features, such as being fully insulated and very secure. It has an in built safety system that will trigger if the door comes into contact with an obstacle on its way down too, the door will simply stop and reverse. AlluGuard doors come with two remotes as standard that are compact enough to go on a keyring. Operating the door with a press of a button is so much better than struggling with a manual door, trying to lock and unlock it in the rain will be a thing of the past.

If you keep your can in the garage it is also more secure than getting out of your vehicle to open the door. You can open the door while approaching and drive right in. The (neatly installed) control box that sits inside the garage also has a light that will stay on for a few minutes while the door is in use, it helps to give you some light in the garage. The door can also be operated by using the up/down buttons on the control box. The door also has a loud integral alarm that will only sound if the door is tampered with.

This installation didn’t really need any finishing trims to frame it etc, the existing cladding stayed and we fit the door behind the opening to give maximum width. All old materials are taken with us and recycled where we can.

Recent installation by us for a customer on the Wirral. The doors are made by Select and chosen in white. Read on for more information about this job…

Side hinge doors have come a long way since most houses had them, before up and over doors etc. Most were heavy timber door that would need constant painting and would swell with weather causing them to stick. There are no such issues with these modern side hinge doors. Made from steel, they come in their own steel frame and in a variety of designs and colours. This door is split in the middle, you can also order the door with the split to the left or right. So that you have a small door and a larger one.

The doors are simple to use and have some good features, such as its solid locking mechanism that can be locked from either side and strong drop bolts. Each door has a “door stay” that will hold the door in the open position until its released. This door was also fitted on an alluminium floor threshold. This is for when floors are not very level and keeps the gap under the door to a minium. It means having a small bump in the floor, but this is often better than a gap that gets bigger as the floor tapers off.

When we install our doors, all of the old door is taken out and any brickwork stained by the previous sealant or paint is cleaned up. Doors are always fitted level and plumb and set up so they are easy to use. All jobs are finished off neatly with matching uPVC trims to finish the framing off and sealed up to brickwork. All old materials are removed from site and disposed off responsibly. Side hinge doors are still popular with some customers for various reasons.

Recently installed for a customer in one of our local areas of Dukinfield. Chosen in a grey colour to suit other features on the house. The door is fully automatic, which means no more heaving an awkward manual door for this customer! 🙂

We offer a range of choices in types of garage doors but we find automatic roller doors are popular with our customers. They are simple to use, fully insulated and save on space with no parts swinging inwards to the garage. Each door is made to measure, which means we can help keeping maximum drive through width on your garage as wide as possible. We often get asked this due to cars being wider now and people wanting to put their cars into their garage.

With older doors, timber frames and door arms etc would often reduce the opening width of the garage. We can often help with this where we can by fitting the door in a way that keeps the opening as wide as possible. This door was installed behind the brickwork, so the frame is actually hidden and you get full drive through width. Any mess from the old door on the brickwork can be neatly clad with uPCV as we did here. This creates a nice framed look to the installation.

We’ve installed thousands of doors and always want our customers to be happy with the product and the quality of the installation. All the old materials are removed from site and recycled where possible. Jobs are left clean and tidy, we want you to enjoy your new door and not have to tidy up afterwards. It’s something we have always prided ourselves on.

AlluGuard roller doors have many benefits and are a great improvement to your home, especially if you are struggling with an old door. Simply pressing a button on a remote control is also much safer, as you don’t have to get out of your car if putting it in the garage. The doors are insulated and seal to the floor nicely, if the flood is uneven, we can fit an aluminium threshold or rubber weather stop to the floor for the door to sit on. Also featured is a safety system that will kick in if the door comes into contact with an obstacle.

AlluGuard Roller door, Hadfield

Recently installed for a customer in one of our main areas around Glossop. This job was in Hadfield and the door was chosen in a nice duck egg blue colour. The close-up picture shown below shows the colour more accurately.

We often replace old manual doors with these great AlluGuard roller doors and often tell us it’s one of the best additions to their home. We have used AlluGuard as a trusted supplier for many years and they are a much better product than many of the cheaper you see (advertised on TV). A big benifit to these doors is they are fully insulated and this helps if the garage leads into the house, or if there are rooms above.

We remove the previous door including any timber framework, unless it is structural etc. But with a job like this, everthing is stripped down so we just have a clean brickwork opening. Which we can add the frame of the roller door and headbox. When this is level, plumb and in a nice position, it is then fixed into place with sturdy fixings. The internal control box is neatly wired in too, this sits inside your garage. It has controls to operate the door as well as the two remote fobs provided and a courtesy light that stays on when the door is operated and for a couple of minutes more.

The door curtain is added last and we also clad around the frame in suitable colour uPVC. This helps to give the door a nice finished look, it’s easy to keep clean and means theres no timber to paint. There are other features on the door such as the in built safety system that will trigger if the door comes into contact with an obstacle.

The door has a rubber seal on the bottom of the door to that will create a nice seal on a fairly level floor. If the floor is a bit rough or unlevel, we also have solutions like a rubber weather seal that sticks to the floor and creates and nice seal. Or an aluminium theshold that is bonded to the floor if the floor is out of level.

Recently installed by our team, this “chartwell green” up-and-over style garage door was chosen to match other features of the same colour on the house. The previous white door is shown in the pictures below to show the difference this lovely installation has made.

Hörmann canopy doors (up and over) are much better than the older types of door we often replace. Made of steel and avaialable in a wide range of styles and colours, these doors are very secure and come in their own steel frame. This reduces the gaps around the door often required with older doors fitted into timber frames. We also fitted a weatherseal to the floor which is optional but closes the gap under the door and keeps weather and leaves out. The door shuts snuggly against the lip on the weatherseal.

With this new door, the timber frame is not needed. So our first job is to remove the door itself in a safe manner (customers should never try to remove a door, due to spring tension that can be dangerous). Then we can remove the timber frame and clean up the brickwork opening of any old sealants etc. We can then lift the new door and frame into place as one unit.

The door is set out neatly in its opening, being careful to fit it level and plumb, so the door operates as it should. Once we are happy with its position, we can fix it into place with the sturdy fixings provided. We then clad the frame in uPVC to neatly frame the door. This also makes it easy to clean and no more painting frames! Lastly the job is neatly sealed up and we always tidy up and remove old materials and the old door from site.

Hörmann canopy door and very easy to operate when setup correctly, we can also provide a service on the door periodically to maintain the spring tension and keep it clean plus lubricated.
