Garage doors repairs and servicing

As well as installing garage doors, we also offer a repair service for any faulty doors or emergency problems. Some doors are not always repairable due to age and obscelete parts, but we will always try to make your door safe if there has been a problem. Cables snapping on older doors is a common problem for instance. A snapped cable on an old up and over door can leave the door jammed for instance.

Even though the doors we supply are of high quality, we are always here to help should a problem occur under warranty too. We don’t install some of the cheaper models of doors out there for the simple reason that we want our customers to be happy with their doors and not have issues.

With installing a wide range of doors, from simple but stylish up and over doors, to large double automated doors, we have years of experience of how these doors age with and without maintenence. Most manufacturers now recommend an annual service on garage doors and we offer this to customers at a reasonable price.

Not only will an annual service keep your door looking and working just like new, general maintanence is a requirement to keep most warranty’s valid. Nick who runs the servicing side of the business has 20 years experience of installing garage doors and takes pride in keeping your doors in tip top shape. We are a family business of brothers. You will mainly meet Mark when choosing your door and having a survey. You’ll meet our brother Phil when he installs your door and Nick if having your door serviced.

Servicing mainly consists of: Checking all fixings are tight, inspecting and cleaning door components, lubrication of parts using engine oil, spring balance is checked and changed if needed, most springs lose tension over time and need more tension adding to assist the door, this especially important on auto doors to protect the operator from pulling too much weight. The operator is also put through its learning mode again so the door and operator are correctly balanced. Importantly any safety systems on auto doors are tested to make sure the door will stiop and reverse if it touches an obstacle.

Any batteries in remotes, push buttons or safety systems on roller doors also get renewed. The door also gets a good clean. You can see in the photos how some older doors have cleaned up after not being serviced for whatever reason. Sometimes customers are not aware for instance. Customers having a yearly service will often get discounts on parts or spares where we can help too, as a sign of our appreciation of your continued custom.
