Select, Gisburn style, side hinge doors, Glossop

Recently installed by ourselves for a customer in Glossop, Derbyshire. These side hinged doors add a nice contrast to the colours on the house and are a practical solution for customers that require this type of door.

Side hinge doors are available in many different colours and styles. This style is known as the Gisburn and has an off centre split. You can also have the doors split in the middle or with the smaller door on either side, like this one. Unlike older style side hinge doors, these doors come in their own steel frames, which means there are no gaps to tamper with the door. The locking system on these Select doors is very secure and simple to operate. The hinges and hardware is very solid and tamper proof.

As with all our installations, we start by removing the old door and the old timber frame, then clean up the openings of any old sealant etc. All the old materials are removed from site by us and recycled appropriately. We can then start to carefully get the doors into position and get them central and level. This type of door usually gets installed on top of an aluminium floor threshold that bonds to the floor and allows for the minimum gap under the door.

After installing the doors. We added uPVC trims to the frame to neatly frame the job in matching white trims. Then we neatly seal up to the brickwork using a colour the blends in nicely (as shown in the close-up pic). All our jobs are left nice and tidy too.
