Carteck side hinged doors, Halifax

We recently installed this pair of side hinged garage doors for a customer in Halifax, West Yorkshire. Chosen in anthracite grey to match the windows and door on the house. The doors are made by Carteck and fitted by ourselves at Pennine Garage Doors.

Side hinged doors have come a long way since the old timber type that would swell and rot over time. These Carteck doors and the frames are made from sturdy aluminium. The panels are insulated between the aluminium too which creates a solid barrier to weather and helps to keep the house warm. The doors are installed onto an aluminium floor threshold, which means the gaps around the door are kept to a minimum.

There are many neat features on these doors, such as easy to use door stays to keep the doors open when in use, the windows are a scratch reistant polymer material and the handle is high grade stainless steel. Carteck side hinged doors feature a multi-point locking system, giving the doors high security for peace of mind and they close with a reassuring clunk. The hinges are also made to be tamper proof and of high quality.

We take great care when installing our garage doors. This installation was neatly finished off with a matching trim across the top and then we used a cement based sealant in a tube to point in the sides where the stonework is. We find this gives a nice finish that matches the pointing on the stonework and doesn’t stand out like silicone sealant would.
