Alluguard automatic roller door, Stalybridge

Here is a recent installation by our team of an Alluguard roller door in our local area of Stalybridge, Tameside. We think you'll agree it looks stunning with the natural wood cladding around it.

This customer had installed this type of wood cladding onto a few parts of their home. The same was decided on the garage, then a black Alluguard roller door was chosen to give a nice contrast, giving the whole installation a gorgeous modern look.

We also installed an aluminium threshold to the floor for the door to sit neatly on top of when closed. We do this for floor surfaces that may be a bit uneven, or where two materials meet where the garage door will sit. In this instance, the concrete garage floor met the tarmac of the drive. The threshold bridges the join and creates a perfect level for the door seal to close on to it. We pointed in the garage floor edge with a good mortar mix and used a tarmac patch up solution on the side on where the tarmac drive is (shown in pic).

The garage door itself is made by Alluguard and is fully automatic. The door comes with two remote controls as standard and also an internal control box that can also operate the door. There is a light on the control box that comes on when the door is in use and stays on for a short while, which is handy to briefly illuminate your garage. Alluguard doors are fully insulated too, meaning there are no gaps around the door and it seals nicely to the floor. Customers with rooms that adjoin the garage tell us that it does indeed make a difference in winter for example.

The control box also has an alarm system within it that will only sound if the door is forced in any way. Alluguard doors are very secure and are backed by the Police's "Secured by design" specifications.

Other benefits of automatic roller doors is that they save space inside your garage, you can also park vehicles close to them as there is no kick-out. There is also a safety system built into the sturdy rubber seal on the bottom of the door curtain that will stop and reverse the door should it come into contact with an obstacle whilst closing. We recommend our doors to be serviced annually to check on all these things and refresh the safety battery as well as remote batteries. We give the door a thorough servicing and clean the whole curtain, including in between the laths. This helps to keep your door working safely and smoothly and keeps it looking like new.
