Hörmann canopy door, Denton, Tameside

A recent installation of ours for a customer in our local area of Denton, Tameside. The project was to give the garage front a nice new look. The customer chose a nice ruby red, which looks smart in its neat white frame.

The garage door is made by Hörmann and is a manual (canopy) door. There was lots of old timber around the door which we removed until we had a nice brickwork opening. Hörmann canopy doors come in their own steel frames, which provides much greater security that older doors. They new Hörmann door features multi point locking and there are no gaps around the where anyone can tamper with it.

As you can see from the in progress photo, after we had cleaned up the brickwork opening, we could then install the door, first making sure it is level and central etc. We then started by building a timber studding above the door which we could clad over with a nice white uPVC fascia board. The frame is then clad in matching white uPVC and neatly sealed up. We always take pride in our finishing touches and we use masking tape to create nice neat lines.

When we install any manual doors, we always set the spring tension up so that the door does most of the work themselves, making them very easy to use. Garage doors do loose spring tension over time and we provide many of our customers with an affordable annual service, where the spring tension is checked as well as all components. We also lubricate necessary parts and the door gets cleaned. We find it helps to keep you new door working and looking like new.
