Hörmann canopy door, Hyde, Tameside

Here is a nice new Hörmann garage door installed for a customer in Hyde, Tameside. The vertical rib style of door is one of our entry level doors but provide the same quality that you would expect from your new garage door installation.

As you can see from the "before" picture, the old side hinge doors were a little bit old and the security of the garage was compromised. All new Hörmann canopy (manual) doors have good security features, unlike many older style doors. The lock is sturdy and there are no gaps around the door to tamper with. The locking bars also engage in multiple places instead of just one latch for instance with older doors. Additional locking bars can be added as optional too, for further peace of mind. Meaning that the door will lock in all four corners.

As per usual, we remove all the old timber from a garage opening, including the door and frame. We would never secure a door to rotting timber and any timber we replace is carefully fixed leaving a small gap with the floor. This means the timber will not soak up water and gradually rot from the bottom (something we see a lot).

Hörmann canopy doors come in their own steel frame, which on this installation we also clad around the door in white uPVC to give the job a nice framed look and to also keep the door size to a standard size. The whole job was sealed up neatly too. The door opens much easier than the old one did. Hörmann manual doors pretty much open most of the way by themselves, there is very little effort required. When the door is pushed into a fully open position, there are also spring loaded clips that will help the door to stay open and not drop down if it is windy for instance.
