We recently installed this pair of classic looking garage doors for a customer on the Mottram Rise estate in Stalybridge, an area where we have many happy customers. The door style is known as the Elegance and the doors were chosen in a rosewood colour to match the house.
We started, as always, buy removing the old white doors and their timber frames. We could then clean up the brickwork openings of old sealants and mortar any gaps left by the old timber pads. The new Hörmann doors come in their own steel frames, the next step is to lift the door and frame and place it in the opening. The doors is wedged in place while we set the ideal position of it, making sure the unit is both level and plumb and also minimising the gap under the door if the floor is slightly out of level (doors need to be fitted level).
Once we are happy with the final position, we can start fixing the whole unite to the brickwork on the inside of the garage using fixings and brackets supplied with the doors. We can also start to clad the outside of the framework in matching uPVC. These doors had painted arches above that we also created uPVC arches for and everything was sealed in a rosewood sealant.
We think you’ll agree, the doors look nice in place with the modern Elegance design keeping a subtle but classic look. The door handles on these Hörmann doors were also upgraded. Instead of the standard black handles you can order metal handles to suit the hardware on your front door. Such as lovely brushed steel etc.
