A recently installation by the Pennine Garage Doors team of a Hörmann, manual canopy door in anthracite grey. The door was chosen to match the new anthracite windows and front door, as well as replacing the old door which had become awkward to use. The Elegance style with it’s simple design is aptly named. As you can see, this is a neat modern design that looks well on most house styles and is available in a wide range of colours and finishes.
Our first task was to remove the old door and the timber frame it was in. This often leaves old paint and sealant on the bricks and a line where the brickwork has aged, which sometimes can be cleaned up, but if not, we use matching uPCV to neatly cover the old brickwork and it boxes in the door nicely (as shown in close up).
The new door comes in its own steel frame, which has many benefits including security (no gaps to tamper with) and the fact it will not require painting like woodwork does. We take care fitting the door so it is nice and level with minimum gap under the door, depending on the floor level (the door has to be level). We can also provide solutions for a rubber weatherstip threshold, which bonds to the floor and will stop drafts and debris from blowing under the door.
We also pay good attention to how the door is setup, such as the spring tension. This means the door is very balanced, easy to use and will not put a strain on any parts. We provide a “door servicing service” where we can take care of your door and its maintenance annually or bi-annually, this helps to maintain your warranty and also keeps your door running smooth and looking smart (we clean it too!)
