Hörmann Finesse style door, Hadfield, Glossop

This recently installed garage door is a Hörmann up and over door, chosen in a modern looking “Finesse” style in anthracite grey with white surrounds. The job was in Hadfield, Glossop, one of our local areas.

The door is a manual type of garage door, unlike most old up and over doors though, Hörmann doors open effortlessly and we install and balance them so that they are easy to use. On this installation we first of all removed the old door and timber frame, which all gets recycled. The new Hörmann door comes in its own steel frame, this is so that the whole unit is functions seamlessly and is much more secure than old door that often only have one latch.

These doors can also be automated at a later date if desired, although they are best fitted on a track system if you are thinking of automating the door. You can always ask us for any advice on your garage door needs, we are always happy to help you choose the right door for you home and requirements.

After we had removed the old door, we were left with the brickwork opening, which we cleaned up of old sealants and paint. We could then lift the new door and frame as one unit into place. The door is then set out neatly making sure it is plumb, level and central, it can then be fixed in place securely. The front of the door is trimmed around with matching white PVCu trims and a nice new fascia where timber cladding had previously been. Nothing will need painting anymore and they whole front of the installation can be cleaned with soapy water to keep it looking new.
