Hormann vertical rib door. Stalybridge, Tameside.

This door was recently fitted for a customer in Stalybridge, Tameside. A Hormann vertical style garage door was chosen to replace an old door that had become very hard to operate.

Due to the opening of the garage being so tall, we also clad above the door in uPVC. We first removed the old door plus all of the timber frame and studding above the door to leave a brickwork opening (shown in picture).

We then installed the new Hormann garage door and made a timber studding to go above the door, to serve as a sturdy surface to attach the uPVC cladding to. The studding was fixed securely in place and then the cladding and finishing trims were installed and the whole job sealed up neatly.

This garage door will now be much easier for the customer to use and also provide a much better level of security. Maintenance is also simple, due to having no more timber to paint. All surfaces can be simply wiped over with warm, soapy water.
