Question
How will I know what size door and which lifting gear is required?

Answer
Once your survey has been carried out you will be advised of the opening sizes of your garage and which products are suitable. The lifting gear can be chosen once your door has been selected. The options will be explained to you at this time and maybe dependant on whether the door will be manually operated or remote control.


Question
What if I require a new frame or fascia's for my new garage door?

Answer
The surveyor will check to see if you require a new frame, most doors are supplied in a steel frame so the chances are your old frame will be removed. If there are any timber fascias above the door then these will be replaced with maintenance free products such as PVC. The surveyor will point this out to you.


Question
Is their any maintenance involved with my new gargae door?

Answer
Yes, but only every 6 months. Most doors are supplied with maintenance instructions that are easy to follow and your fitter will give you full instructions on the day of installation. Most doors just require general lubrication of moving parts and cleaning of the outer door surface.

Will I need to paint or treat my new door?

Answer
Most of our doors are supplied pre-painted and require no further applications apart from cleaning on a regular basis. Timber doors will need to be treated by the customer, although some doors can be fully finished within the factory. If you are unsure of the finish of your door then we will be able to give you any advice you may require prior to ordering you door.

Can I have a remote control system on my new door?

Answer
Yes, as long as your garage has an adequate electricity supply and enough clearances within the garage. This will be pointed out at the time of the survey and to which remote control system will be compatible for you new door. Remote control systems can be installed on existing doors as long as you have the correct style lifting gear.

What happens to my old garage door?

Answer
As we operate and environmental policy within the Company your old garage door and frame are all taken off site and recycled in accordance with strict guidelines. No charge will be made for this unless otherwise stated on you quotation.


Question
What warranty periods can I expect from my new door and remote control system?

Answer
Most warranty periods for garage doors are 10 years on the exterior face and 5-10 years on the working components. Remote control systems carry a 5 year warranty. All this information will be printed on your quotation form.
