Brrrrr… We installed this garage door for a customer in Didsbury, just before the epic snow arrived. We sadly had to move a few of our jobs to different dates during the worst of the weather and we thank our customers for their understanding and patience. We always aim to fit doors as per the arranged date, however we also have to consider safety etc when the weather is as bad as we had recently.
The new Hormann door was to replace an old steel canopy door, the customers wanted a new insulated door due to the garage leading into the house. A sectional door is perfect for this requirement, as they are made from high quality materials that provide very good insulation from the elements. This one was fitted just in time to keep the house cosy during the freezing weather we had.
As you can see from the photos, we first stripped back the opening to the bare brickwork. We could then start building up the framework of the door, adding the panels at the latter stage, as well as fitting the automation system to the door. We also lined the brickwork opening with matching uPVC flatboard, to neatly finish the look of the installation off.
There are many benefits to a sectional door, they are fully insulated, can be automated or manual, have very good security features and a durable (UV stable) finish to the doors. You can park close to door too, as there is no “kick out”. There is also a range of handy extras you can add, such as extra push button fobs that can go in your car, or internal push buttons (shown in pic) that can be installed, so that openening your garage from the inside is quick and easy.
